#70 where do i start

New shop pics from the inside as it is now. I have a total of 6 different contractors I am working with to get this project started and finished. Keys are still not in my hand and now I have just been told how much it is going to cost to get our work van fixed after last weeks fun and games. We also have a new computer system due to be launched in the next two weeks.

On the plus side figures are up from last year and the weather is still nice so that always helps.

Well technically it is post 65 of this year although I have not been to bed since #64
50mph on the motorway 2hrs south of Perth on the way home from Stockport front nearside wheel bearing collapse! Fish tailing across 3 lanes with a van full of stock mmmm fun. Equals a ride home on a recovery truck. Goodnight!

Staff training today down in Stockport. Good bit of training on customer expectations and complaints. I am a better salesman now!

#59 the big question

At work all we have been getting asked this week is "Where is your new Catalogue" Well it is here but we have just not got the paper copies yet. You can check out the link here for a look at a virtual copy.

Next week I am heading down south and will hopefully come back with a pile to hand out. We are really proud of this edition. It is about the 8th or 9th edition and probably the biggest yet. It still doesn't have everything in it. We still have an outdoor catalogue to come. We should have that done by Easter.

#46 fire!

Bit of a crazy start to the day today. As I was driving down the A9 I saw a huge plume of black smoke coming from what looked like my shop! As I got closer to work I got more worried as it was coming from the area where my shop is located.

When I got there to my relief it was not our shop. Then my thoughts quickly turned to the business owner and employees for Wylie Recycling where the fire was blazing from. 10 Fire Tenders and goodness knows how many Firefighters were battling the blaze all morning. As I write this at 4.30pm there are still Firefighters and at least one Tender still in attendance. News is reporting no injuries which is good news.

#45 tents

Today was mostly about tents for me. Not staying in them but ranging them for this year's Brookbank Catalogue. The watersports catalogue is done and should be in store by the end of the month. We are busy putting together our first outdoor range for more than just contract business.

#39 adverts

I'm working hard at work just now. Just finishing for the day now at 8pm. We have lots going on. New computer epos sysetm coming in and a move in the next month or so. Adverts have been getting sorted too.
The best news or maybe it is bad news. A Greggs Bakery shop is going to be next door to our new unit!!! oh dear. There goes the healthy eating plan for 2012.

#32 argh computers

New system coming online in the next couple of weeks. Messing with my head today.

In 6 months time we'll wonder what the fuss was about. That's what I keep telling myself.

#31 deadlines

Deadlines are everywhere. Work - do this by then. We need that done today. These prices need updating. We need to have the new store open by Easter. We have to see them on that day. That boat needs to be here by then. Work needs done by then etc. Personal - Credit Card bills paid by then. Need to get the kids in bed by then. Need to see these guys by then. Need to get that done before we can do that.

All that doesn't matter when you have this little face to look at when you get home.

#23 about the cold

It is good to stay warm. Wool is best! Mostly except for synthetic filling covered in Goretex..... I am enjoying my woolpower 200grm top today.

#18 news

Some exciting news at work today. Early stages and lots of work to go to pull it off. But......fingers crossed it'll be good!!!!

#14 cold

It was cold this morning. But think about this, this time last year it was around -20 and piles of snow everywhere. So really it is quite warm.

Gets you thinking when you are on the road. Clear roads and sunny days it is nice to be out the shop for a few hours. Quick trip to Carlisle and back to pick up more stock and orders.

#1 Happy New Year 2012

Whatever happened in 2011 I hope 2012 is happier and more fun!
I'm planning to eat healthier and look forward to more news like I got this morning. Congrates Craig and Dani.
My big year of blogging challenge for 2012 is to try and blog something everyday. Be it a picture a word or a book worth of words. Could be interesting.
Cool thing with New Years Day is the start of 16 days worth of the DAKAR!

Hard Work

Was up to Torridon yesterday with an order delivery. Amazing scenery and weather. Pity I was in the van and not on my bike!
