#301 old friend

Went to see an old friend today and asked him if he wanted to come live at my house. He said yes. Only after we got him started after a year and a half idle. We'll see him at our house in a month or so when I get the chance to go pick him up.

#298 olympic torch

Today was the day I got to get that classic picture holding a genuine Olympic Torch. It was at the SCA canoe show. At least I didn't have to run anywhere with it.

#297 busy busy

Probably the busiest day we have had in the new shop today. Always expected it to be a big weekend. It was well managed though and we didn't feel mad busy so that was good.
Beer and burgers went down very well. Yum Yum.

Cheeky wee beer round at Inveralmond Brewery today. We have bought 72 pints of Ossian from them for the weekend so we went round for a wee tasting session. So there I was pint in hand when I got a phone call to say my boss had arrived at the shop to set up the show stand. oops

Wee change around at the shop today. Moved some desks and put some new things on display for this weekend's event.
More boats due tomorrow. Roll on November and some time off.

With this dry weather the house build has taken a good step forward. A roof and everything. starting to look like what we have on the plans. From the outside anyway.

Old School pyranha acro 300 came in today as a trade in.
Funny to think I was in the new 2013 boats this week and people are still paddling and buying boats from the mid 90's and they are quite usable too!

#289 home sweet home

5 days away from home it is nice to be back after what must be about 1000 miles. Great to see the girls. Some work has been on the house but not as much as we were expecting. Weather has not been good. Planning meeting due on Monday so we'll see what the new plan completion date is.

#287 getting around

Well it was off to Pyranha this morning for the low down on their 2013 line up. The plus point to going to see them is that they had invited us to go boating in North Wales with all the new boats, result!
So not only did we get to see their new factory and new shiny boats we got to go scratch them too!

Today was all work but down in Clevedon at Palm Equipment international which if your are wondering is a very long way away from Murthly.

We got to see most of the range including the 50 new products in their line up for 2013.

Some great products coming from touring jackets, salopetes and pfds to a very cool footrest adjustment and outfitting in the new creek boats. Some very well thought out gear. I'm looking forward to seeing it in store next year.

I'm sure it is not halloween yet but Jax has started already!

She has a strange fascination with Halloween which is quite fun actually. The house will be totally decorated almost as much as Christmas! But really? It is two weeks away. Come on!

Well I've made it to my mid 30's. Thankyou to everyone for the birthday wishes today. Had a chilled out day with the wife. Movie and lunch. Beer included obviously.

Bit of gardening today to keep it tidy for the winter. We also found two huge logs almost a metre across. One will do fine for chopping logs on when we get our stove and the other one will look great with a Christmas tree in it.

Looking forward to the next three days off with my girls. Sunday Monday is the only two days in all of October we will all be off together. boo. Too much work.

Fort William for a delivery today and Glencoe was in all its autumn glory today. Grey with showers and rolling mist. Awesome.

Finally got them ordered to arrive in just over a week. Engineers, builders and architect have been arguing over the design.
It is going to look great but has added another week to the project.

Blast from the past today. Mum had picked up a fresh pretty much new Hungry Hungry Hippo game from a charity store. Bit of history for you here the first idea of the game was published in 1967 and the first edition of the game came out in 1978.
There are four hippos in the game: Lizzie (funnily enough) Hippo (purple), Henry Hippo (orange), Homer Hippo (green), and Harry Hippo (yellow). In some versions of Hungry Hungry Hippos, Henry is replaced by a blue hippo of the same name. A later edition of the game replaces the purple hippo, Lizzie, with a pink one named Happy. The most recent edition of the game (in Fall 2009) has a lighter blue base with pastel colored versions of the Hippos: Sweetie Potamus (pink), Bottomless Potamus (yellow), Picky Potamus (orange), and Veggie Potamus (green).
So there you go next time you see Hungry Hungry Hippos you can bore people with some trivia.

#271 ullapool no show

I was meant to be away to Ullapool at the weekend with the ABR forum riders but work got in the way on Sunday so I didn't think it was worth it for just the Friday night. I had a good two days boating anyway oh and the weather up there was very wet and windy so lucky escape.
