New engine bars arrived today. It'll let me ride off road with a bit more confidence knowing if I drop my bike it won't get too damaged.

Next on the list, new exhaust, pivot pegz and maybe some bar risers.....

#147 where has the sun gone

It was like someone had turned the heater off tonight riding home. This week has been so warm. Riding to and from work in kevlar jeans and summer jacket was feeling too warm. Tonight was very cold. I wish I had my winter jacket on.
Or a new jacket and pants combo. Mmmm kit list for USA trips.......Klim Traverse Suit.

Sun was out today. Not a cloud in the sky. I cleaned car and bike and that was about it. Back to work tomorrow. I seem to live to work and not the other way round. Life is crap.

Been really sunny the last few days. Biking to work everyday. Love it! Lizzie loves the bike and wants to ride with me from the gate.

Booked my first aid course refresher today with BASP today. Mine has run out so thought I should update.
Booked for June just down the road in Birnam.

#141 shop front

Starting to look like a shop front now. We have to be out of our old unit by Friday and we still have a lot to clear out of there. Mostly rubbish oh and the 20 odd boats we have stored there.

Glass front going in Friday as well. We are operating out of the new shop now and it is a great place to be. The official opening will be the weekend of June 9th and 10th so put the date in your diary. It will be a big thankyou to everyone who helped make it happen.

It is funny as we opened Brookbank Perth on June 10th 2006. Six years on we do about 5 times the turnover, we get and extra 1000sqft and we are going to have a bike shop upstairs helping with the rent and increasing footfall! Someone deserves a raise this year! :)

New shop beginning to look like a shop and I was only working for 4hrs today.

Liz has come down with something and really not well today. Poor wee thing was all shiverer. Big thanks to granny and nana for helping out today.

Bye bye Unit C12 and 13. It has been a fun 6 years. We are out officially but we moved most operational stuff to the new unit today. Oh and I drove to Carlisle and back to pick up 20 boats!

Well almost. Stock is starting to go in. Display racks are mostly there. The best bit is yet to come. Some cool graphic banners are still to come to be mounted on the back wall and a signpost at the front of the store.

I know it has been wet and windy today. But Lizzie is in bed awake and still singing row row row your boat and it is past 9pm....... could be a long night.

#130 skiing?

It is mid May and I haven't been skiing this winter yet there is still snow falling on the Cairngorms and in fact there is a high avalanche risk currently and nearly all aspects.

Why do I do what I do for work not do what I want to do for work?

#129 in emergency break glass

Today the major back is broken on the new shop build. Shutters are in, new logos and signage is up. Some cleaning to get done over the weekend and stock in at the beginning of next week. Oh and we have a demo day tomorrow!

#128 light at the end of the tummel

After what seemed like the longest, toughest week in my working life I managed to tear myself away from the shop build to go paddling to try and relax. The sun was definitely not shinning but it was worth it. Loch Faskally it was for an hours worth of paddling.

The shop is coming along. New external doors were going in when I left along with carpets, painting and data cabling. Looking forward to seeing it tomorrow to see what still needs doing. We may well be in by next week.

Signage went up today on the new shop. I'm putting in mega hours right now and it is catching up on me but we are getting closer to the end result. Everyone is being a big help but I have forgotten what it is like outside work? Anyone got an idea?
This weekend will be the big push to move everything across and hopefully be operating out of there by next week. 5 or 6 contractors on site tomorrow. I've lost count. Our new shop fittings arriving on Thursday.
The end result will be great.

#122 carfest

Tried to get tickets for carfest north this morning in September. Tickets went on sale at 8am this morning and I eventually got onto the ticket sales web page at 8.15am only to find out it was sold! 10's of 1000's of tickets sold in under 15mins! It is all for children in need and it would have been fun to go to. Ah well www.carfestnorth.org/ for info and see what we'll be missing.

Just going through archives I spotted I have two #92 so setting it straight from today 2nd May should be #120.

Just for the sake of posting a picture here is what the replacement for the Landrover Defender is going to look like. I think it is due out in 2015.

Daddy Day care Day today and Lexie's first tooth came through!
We had a great day in the park with swings slides and a flying fox.

A big thanks to Tayside Sea Kayak Club tonight. Had a great paddle from Broughty Ferry. Great bunch of people and a lovely sunset on the way back.
