Early Season Mini Tour

Had a great day out today up at GlenShee. Three laps up Carn Aosta.

No lifts running so we had to skin up.

Low wind and sunshine made for an excellent day on the hill.

Hard packed snow with some soft conditions on top.

First Turns of 2013/2014 Season.

Happy smiles all round.

More driver training this week. Three days worth.

Really enjoying my time at the Land Rover Experience.

An epic sunset looking out over Butterstone Loch this week as well.

Land Rover Experience Scotland

Started my training as a driving instructor at Scotland's Land Rover Experience. It is based at Butterstone Loch only 15mins away from our house so it would be rude not to.

We got to drive Discovery 4 and both Range Rover Sport and Range Rover in Vogue spec. I knew these cars were good but in standard form it still blows me away how good they are.

The tech that is in them is incredible. I'm looking forward to learning all about it and seeing what they are capable of.

F800 GSA

Got a loan of the new 800 GS Adventure from Dundee BMW after a bit of a slow start with them they have been very helpful and let me have the bike for the weekend. I clocked up over 120 miles yersterday on dual carriageway A road B road a little off road and some riding in the dark to test the lighting. All I can say is. I want one.
So much nicer to ride than my Transalp, with more protection because of the higher screen. I also has a bit more grunt. The Enduro or Road settings are easy to use and it does become a breeze to handle on the rough stuff when Enduro mode is set.
The fuel tank under the seat means you lose some storage space but the weight under the seat and no tank up front means the bike feels narrow and light.

Time to save some pennies over the winter.

Micro Adventure.

A wee Micro Adventure. Left the house last night at about 8pm and headed to Loch Tummel. Found a great camp spot and settled down for the night after some eating, swimming and fishing.
Got up and had breakfast before heading off to the Trinifor to Calvine road then back road through Blair Athol to Pitlochry. Coffee stop at Escape Route and them more back road action to Logierait. Over the wooden bridge to Dalguise then A9 home by 10am.
