#268 island

Went out for a wee paddle this afternoon. Went to little Loch of Clunie less than 10miles from the house.
There is a wee island on the Loch where I had my lunch and tried a spot of fishing.
On the island (formerly a crannog) in the loch stand the remains of Clunie Castle, a tower house of the Bishops of Dunkeld. The last pre-Reformation bishop, Robert Crichton, passed the property to his near relative, Robert Crichton, Lord Advocate of Scotland. His son James, the notable Scottish polymath better known as the Admirable Crichton, spent his childhood there.
There you go a bit of wiki history for you.

oh and here are some pics.
